The Rails Guild is a directory and verification platform for Rails developers, run by Joel Gaff, Jr. The official entity behind it is Endurance Evolution, LLC. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms.

Your account

  • Sign-in is by email code. Keep control of your email; whoever controls it controls your account.
  • One account per person. Be a real person, and list only work that is yours.

Conduct

This is a community. Be kind.

  • Do not post anything hateful, harassing, threatening, or cruel. That includes slurs, hate symbols, mockery or denial of atrocities, and content that demeans people for who they are: their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or anything else.
  • Your name, your page address, your avatar, your bio and location, your links, and the names, descriptions, and addresses of your apps are all content. These rules apply to every one of them.
  • We decide what crosses the line. We may remove content or delete an account at any time, without warning, if we believe you are being unkind, hurtful, or harmful to the community. That call is ours alone, and no appeal is owed.

Your content

  • You own what you publish: your profile, bio, avatar, and app listings.
  • By publishing, you grant us a license to display that content in the directory, on your public page, and in previews of those pages.
  • Do not publish anything unlawful, deceptive, or infringing, and follow the Conduct section above. We may remove content or accounts that break these rules.

Verification and badges

  • Verification proves control of a site by a token check. Do not game it.
  • Badges are earned and can be revoked if the evidence behind them stops holding, or if they were obtained dishonestly.

Sponsors

Sponsor plaques are paid placements, always labeled, and never influence membership, badges, or rank.

The service

  • The Rails Guild is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee either.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Endurance Evolution, LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
  • We may change or discontinue features, and may update these terms. Material changes will be noted on this page.

Why be a patron

For a company or organization that wants Rails developers to know its name, there is no better place to be. Every member has proven they run the apps on their page, so these are people actually putting Rails into production, and the employers who come here to hire them read the same pages.

Your support helps fund hosting and ongoing development, and keeps the guild independent and free for the developers who use it. In return your company/organization is recognized on the site as a patron, in front of the exact people you want to reach. No ad network, no auction, and no tracking of anyone. Your mark is a plain link in good company.

How it works

Your plaque hangs on the rails flanking the directory on desktop, and rides the scrolling patron bars across the top and bottom of the page on phones. Every page's footer carries your name. Patronage never influences membership, badges, or rank.

Current rate: $50/month, locked in for as long as you stay.
